I scored a FREE 10 bolt front end, (3.73 ratio), and I want to convert it to 8 lug...

I've done some research, and I know I'll need a new hub & rotor...

My question is: 1) will the 1/2 ton spindles work, and 2) will the 1/2 ton caliper support work....?

the calipers, and wheel bearings are the same (They have the same part #'s)...I know the early D44 have the small bearing spindles...so they need new spindles...:dunno:

If the 6 and 8 lug hubs use the same size bearings (ID of the inner bearing) then all you'll need to swap is the caliper bracket and the hub/rotor assembly.

I believe all 10 bolts have the bigger spindle. Also the "caliper support" is called a backing plate. I believe the 3/4 ton rotors are bigger, so a new backing plate will be in order. Good luck.

Yeup, I used my spindles over. Backing plates are a little different. Should be just hubs and rotors if the backing plates clear and line up with the rotors.

backing plates are different, 3/4 ton rotors are bigger. I tried one time just to see if I could get it to work but its not gonna happen with factory 3/4 ton rotors.

One step closer!

The axle is sitting in my truck...:thumb::haha:

where's the fat man dancing smilie?:haha::pimp:
