Hi All,

I have finished a bunch of rust repair and have started putting my front clip together which by the way is a pain in the ass to get right...

Anyway I notice that my front tire seems to be sticking out on the passenger side more than I remember it doing before I took it apart?

During the rust repair I did install a sway bar from a 73 K5, could the sway bar be the reason for the shift? If not then what could be?

Sway bar would not affect axle placement. Didyou remove the axle housing of just the front clip?
I can't really think of why one side would be sticking out farther. Everything bolts in only one place

Core support shift to the drivers side?

If the core support is centered on the new bushings the hood wont close and hits the fenders. I'll get some pics tonight.

I though about shifting the core support but I will have to do some grinding to make things line up. I am fine with that but wonder why it wasnt like that before?

And no I did not remove the axle, just the body parts.

Would a bent frame explain the issue. Not saying I have one just trying to find reasons why it could be off.

So, the core support is on the new bushings with bolts through them and it's still out of whack enough that the hood will not close enough before you hit the fenders?

Do you have the inside bolts from the fender to the core support in? What does the gap between the back of the hood and the cowl look like?

You could easily be within the sloppy tolerances of the body mounts.

I was off by 3/4" at the cowl with all my mounts aligned "perfectly".... I wasted a LOT of time scratching my head about that one.

Line up the panels and gaps with the body mounts loose, once everything looks good go back and snug down the mounts.

My $.02

ps. Photos would be a big help
