Front Axle Swap

Greetings all. Working on my 70 Jimmy frame-off. I want to upgrade the front drum to disc. I understand a full axle swap is likely the easy (cheap) way to go. I'm wondering if anyone knows what years work well for this and anything I should be looking for. 1971-????. Any years better than others? Any advice on finding a good example other than FB or CL of course. Thanks in advance

All the way up to 91 gm solid axles swap in really easy. Order calipers for a 79 ish and older to have same brake hoses and caliper fittings so you wouldn’t have to reflare anything.
