First post here on ck5 been doing lots of reading on here so I thought I would join the group. Just acquired a brand new to me 1989 k5, after installing a 4'' tuff country all spring kit and 35x12.5-17 as I was taking some measurements I noticed the front tire on the passenger side is sticking out of the fender more than the driver side around 1 inch or so and was wondering what's up. I don't notice any frame or even body damage that I can blame it on spring pins are lined up exc. Maybe they come like this from factory I don't know. If someone knows or don't mind measuring one they have access to I would really appreciate it

Initial design of this chassis is from 1973...

Chances are there isn't anything wrong, but give the body mounts a good looking over.

yeah i check out the body mounts and make sure they seem positioned right. I know its probably nothing to worry about but im really particular and i guess i was hoping every one would say it normal or all of them do it

It's not UN usual. I had that at one point (maybe a lot more points too) in time on my K5. Party on.

Sounds like the body shifted or the bushings might not be all the way in the springs on one side. It would allow the axle to move. Also check the shackle and bushings. If those are bad they can let the truck Lean to one side too.

Did you install new wheels too? Perhaps the tire place gave you one wheel with less backspacing than the other three?

well i looked over the body mount real good and it does seem to have a slight shift towards the drive side. Im not sure its going to get me as much adjustment as i need but ill try this first. I also have a some what aggressive lean to the driver side mostly in the front about an inch difference before and after the new spring were installed. i know the chevy lean seems to be common but it seems very noticeable to me at least maybe im crazy but what is the best fix for the lean im assuming a shim or shackle. i have also removed the sway bar so i know that has nothing to do with the lean
