front axle u-joint

how do you tell if there bad? Well it rained today and i went early morning mudding,it was great till i had a bad vibration up front.I haven't checked the front drive shaft but i just change those,but you never know.

Might just be a mud pack in the rim giving you those bad vibes

I didn't get any vibes when one of mine was failing and even after it finally completely fell out, just a ton of rattling noises.

I knew it was failing, one of the cups was working it's way out, sadly, I was asked to go help recover a friends stuck truck. Made the deal with him told him what was going on and said it most likely wouldn't survive the night.

It didn't, cup came completely out, but still did it's job and ultimately tor up the ears so bad it was not repairable. He knew this and agreed to buy a new shaft for it once his truck was recovered.

Got the job done, got the new axle shaft.

it did this before when the u-joint ripped out of my rear shaft at the transfer case,
it mad the same noise when the front shaft before this one went out. its dried up some so in a few min ill go and check it hope its just a front shaft u-joint

found it my new shaft hits the stops so i need to cut them off

are you talking about axle shaft u-joints or front drive shaft u-joints?
