I'm having problems with my 1996 GMC sonoma. The front axle won't engage. I've checked the cable and vacuum pod and their OK. I've also replaced the switch on top of the t-case and still no luck. I'm not getting vacuum to engage the actuater. There is a switch by the battery which connects to the vacuum line. I'm not sure if that could be the problem or not. any help is appreciated. Thanks Jason

that actuator is probably no good thats the most common failure, how did you test it

Well i finally got time to work on it today. I must still have a vacuum leak or one of the switchs is bad. I followed the vacuum line from the actuator pod to the t- case and it wasn't getting any vacuum at all. I didn't find any leaks but i taped into a t-fitting that has constant vacuum. The front axle is always engaged now like driving with the lockouts always in 4wheel drive. I think i might get a posi lock system for it and then i won't have to worry about it. Has anyone used the posi lock system and did you like it?
