Hey guys, my wife wants to sit beside me more?! So I need to put a bench in the front of my 2wd. The 4wd I will keep as captains in front don't worry.
But does anyone know what the best option/opinion is for a front bench seat?
It is a 78 2wd blazer.
Thanks

As far as what? Stock would be the easiest route. Go to any pick 'n pull. Post something on CL, usually people go the other route, and replace their benches, so you could possible find someone to swap.

Or, get a nice 60/40 split bench out of something like a Oldsmobile or Buick with power and velour :D

If you get something free, spend some coin to get it reupholstered. If you were closer I'd gladly swap the bench out of my short bed :D

Mounting, I have no idea, never swapped. I'm sure it's been discussed just do a search. Sure it's pretty darn easy to fab some mounts if needed.

I don't believe the Blazers ever came with a bench up front, so you'll have to do some fabbing to make it mount.

Fortunately, you have the later style floorpan. 73-77 Blazers are a surprisingly tight fit behind the front seats -- been there, done that.

From my experience a 73-87 pickup bench will physically fit, width-wise, in a stock Blazer (as it should since they're basically the same body.) You'd still expect to make some spacers or brackets as the pickup floorpans are different from the Blazer.

If you can't easily find one of those, as mentioned, get anything about the right size, as you're gonna be cutting and/or welding the brackets anyway.
