I just got a dana 60 front axle for my blazer and am beginning to take it apart to rebuild and paint.

I am having trouble getting the calipers off. I saw a rectangular plate with a allen head bolt in it at the bottom of the caliper. I removed the bolt but can not remove the plate. It is probably just rusted or maybe I am missing something, I have banged on the caliper and it will not budge.

Please help.

Thanks
Rob

From Ryanb..I asked the same thing yesterday...lol

Yep put the spring on top of the c channel shaped caliper pin..
Like this..

~

And then pound it in there from the side, while you push the caliper up a little bit..

The caliper pin is shaped like..

----^-----^------

and the first slot will line up for the bolt to go in the hole.

Good luck.
