Then there's a chance it could be leftovers from when the R&P was breaking in. Like I said, pull the cover, drain it, give everything in there a REALLY good clean up with some brake cleaner, and fill it up with fresh stuff. Then keep an eye on it.
FWIW, Chris, every time I've bought a used vehicle, the first thing I've done is swapped out ALL of the fluids. If you don't know when yours were last done, I suggest you go about changing them all out sooner rather than later.
