I recently swapped out my Np203 and 10 bolt for an NP205 and a D60. Unfortunately the drive shaft angle appears to be to much for the CV and it binds at ride height :doah:

I'm running 52's netting 6sh or so of lift with 454/350/NP205 combo, front axle is moved a couple inches forward.

Here is the drive shaft in question

As you can see I have about 26.5 degrees of angle in the CV. The axles castor is set at about 7-8 degrees and rides pretty nice as is. I'm also concerned that there is not enough slip in this shaft, what's an ideal amount of slip for the front?

Thanks

Look at the parts of the cv that are hitting, GM made cast in "stops" that limit the angle. This is so that (on a stock height truck) if the u-joint at the diff breaks the driveshaft won't hit the ground. You can grind those "stops" off and get a LOT more angle.

However, you probably won't get a stock shaft to work with the 52's, the stock shafts don't have a ton of slip.

It's actually an aftermarket shaft made by south bay driveline. The guy I bought it from had it in a K5 with an atlas, I just had it shortened by 2" recently.

I'll try grinding it, maybe I can get enough out of it....
