Hi All,

It appears as if some parts of my front driveshaft are not salvageable, and I'll be replacing the whole system. I have an 89 fullsize Jimmy, but the PO did a lot of monkeying around with it, and swapped in axles from a 78. Is the stock setup for an 89 the double cardan joint at the T-Case? From looking at LMC's website, and my service manual, I'm seeing something different, however what was actually on the truck was a double cardan.

Also, on the driveshaft is a sticker for a driveline shop but I'm really hoping it's not a custom length (the truck has a several inch lift and is on 35s). Could someone provide me a length I could compare to, to determine if the driveshaft I pulled out is a stock length?

Basically what I'm trying to avoid is buying something from LMC that doesn't fit.

Thanks for any info, here is a pic of the Cardan End of the shaft.

And don't mention lmc when you talk about driveshaft.

Thanks for the replies... I took a leap of faith and ordered the Cardone 65-9339 from Amazon, and it was an exact match. Bolted up easy, and the 4x4 is back in working order!

Be careful, that old cv looks like it failed due to binding from too much angle. Most likely you will need to clearance a stock cv to make it live.
