Front Drive Shaft U Joints

hey im thinking tomorrow im going to finish my fron drive shaft repair (loose u joints in the cv in the front shaft). i already have the drive shaft out and i believe that the u joints are original with the plastic plugs can i just use a torch and heat em up or is there other ways and are the joints in the cv all the same as say the rear u joint by the way i have a 355/700r4/np241 on a 89 blazer thanks.

The only way to change U-joints that have the plastic retainer is to melt them out.. You have to use a regular torch because a bottle torch even using MAP gas is not hot enough..
