Front driveshaft has play on the splined end

It's worn out.

A driveshaft shop can replace the splined parts for you but there is so much labor involved a new shaft will be similar in price.

It may be worth just dealing with because it only spins in 4WD. It will have to get REALLY bad before you risk stripping the splines.

Mine did this, galled and cracked my transmission from not being able to compress
