I need to replace the u-joints in my front driveshaft. I was going to just take it into the local driveline shop, but they want like $130-160 to fix it which I think is a little steep. Problem is, I have no idea on how to fix this one with the 2 u-joints and CV style knuckle between them. Is this a big pain in the ass job or can it be done? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

It's doable, but they are a pain. Have you priced up parts yet?

Kind of, but I haven't found a price on the knuckle deal in the center. I don't even know what to call this thing.

Thanks. I think it would cost me about what they can do it for the parts, maybe a little more. So I think I may just bite the bullet and let them do it.

That's what I was trying to get at. Just make sure you get a quote from them before you drop it off.
