I just did a Dana 60 swap in my p/u. The truck has 4" springs, the 1" Zero Rate, and axle moved forward 1" now. What should the length of the front driveshaft be? I have no idea if the front is stock or has ever been lengthened. What should I be looking at for length? Currently, the distance from the u-joint at the diff. to the u-joint closest to it on up the shaft is roughly 25.125" with the slip yoke in mid-travel. Any help would be much appreciated.

nice screen name bolt the one you have up and see whats going on if it short or long, or you can pull the measurement's and take the old shaft down and have it retubed to what you need.

I wanted to modify it myself. I have a lathe and a welder, so I can keep it true as I do it. I was just wondering if others have the same setup and can tell me the length.

every truck is alittle different so measure it out even with the same set up spring sag and so forth will all change the lenght.

i did a d60 swap in the front of my k10 w/ 4" lift springs and no zero rates. the stock shaft bolts right up and is fine. i would just get a new u joint. up until 6" of lift your good, when you get to 8" of lift you need a custom front shaft i believe. i could be wrong though
