Front driveshaft needs rebuilt?

My front driveshaft has a lot of play in the slip yoke...i can wiggle it up and down a lot, maybe 1/2" or more. What is likely to have orn out here? Would i need to get it resplined? I have pumped it full of grease and it doesn't help. thanks

Mine does the same thing but not as much play. I know on new shafts, the splines have a blue plastic coating on them so I'm thinking maybe thats whats worn out but I'm not sure?? Either that or the splines themselves are shot. I'm sure someone on here will know what the deal is.

mine had a lot of play like that and just last week i chewed up the splines on it trust me fix it before you depend on it
