A friend of mine just swapped out a 465/208 in favor of a th350/205. He has it all bolted up and ready to go except for the front d-shaft. His 208 shaft has a flange and his 205 case has a yoke.

Is it possible to take the flange off the shaft and just bolt it to the 205 yoke? But there is on kicker. The joint is a different size if this is possible.. So he would need a conversion joint. If there is one.

Anyone?

You cannot swap the yokes on the Saginaw(flange) and Spicer(yoke) d-shafts. The cardan joints are different.

His best bet is to find a d-shaft from a 76-older NP205 or NP203 behind a TH350. The 203 shafts are about 2" longer than the 205 shafts. So, if he has a decent lift he might need the extra length.

Thanks! He was going to call around to the local salvage yards to see what he could find.

Stopped over there last night. Haven't looked at a CV shaft in sometime and forgot the cv joint had that ball in the center and the back flange connected to it. :doah:
