front driveshaft question from FNG

OK, so not many places to wheel here in Chicago, but I still want to be prepared for when the snow comes. I put 'er nuetral locked dem hubs and proceeded to do a few circles in the parkinhg lot. After a rotation or two I hear a loud clunk. I get out and look underneath and see that my drive shaft is literally sitting on part of my exhaust!!! It almost looks like the splined part that connects to the front cv joint is not pushed in enough? i have no idea, any input would be helpful.
