ok so i am trying to make my front driveshaft have more angle on it. i grinded the tabs off that make it stop( the ears on the driveshaft and ground down the extra where the ujoint goes. my quston is the ball and socket pice in the center can i grind down the out side of that or can i just cut it out all together. my truck is a mud only truck it has 12" of lift i know the drive shaft wont hold up long like that just enough time to save money to get a new one thanks.

No prob any time.:grind:

Grind the ears is all you can do imo. The ball and cup are needed to keep the shaft from flopping around --firsthand knowledge. Even broke a ball/cup unloading off the trailer when my "shaftman" removed too much of the stops. Finally went with a Bad Boy Jr ( I think was the name ) from www.driveshaftsuperstore.com. Running in 4 yrs with no issues or worries.
