Front end shifted, Now with pictures, please help.

okay, how do i go about fixing it? and thanks a lot for helping me.

Im bored.

yes you can fix it.. Im not sure how handy you are.. but ill assume the worst.

basic overview..

for the centering pins you will need a 4 inch c-clamp, small punch/ phillips screw driver, a 15/16 socket for the u-bolts.. jack and jack stands.

Jack it up, safely set it on a sturdy set of stands.

Pull off the wheel

remove the U-bolts, hopefully you sprayed on some PB blaster or wd40 and several hours prior.

Place the c-clamp on the spring pack, line the holes up with a screw driver or punch.

Now this is the crap part.. to install the new centering pin "available at most trailer hardware facilities, or pick up a 3/8 fine screw allen head from ace hardware, grade 8 or better"

You need the lift the truck up, and leave the axle down... use a taller jack, high lift or get creative.. but be safe please!

Slide the new bolt in, tighten down the nut, remove the vice grip, line it up in the hold on the spring perch and re-install the u-bolts. Tighten them, then after several miles retighten them!

For the knuckle... get a hanes manual.. only advice you need here is that you will need a knuckle, and some new ball joints, and need them pressed into the knuckle. This whole procedure is not hard, just take your time.. torque thing properly and you will get through it.

for a knuckle just post a wanted add on here or craigslist, just get the same one as the tie rod mounts a tad different for the other style,

if you are new to this, please post pictures, take your time and ask questions.

Good luck!

-shawn

stuff to get...

-hub socket
-good grease
-cheap or good pick set
-4 inch or better C-clamp
-3/8 centering pins or grade 8 allen head bold

edit... just noticed the axle swap post.

As mentioned, pop the cover and check! Would be easier being its your daily driver.

thanks, this helps a lot. I'm pretty handy and good at figuring things out but its good to have some advice to start with.
