Do ya think this is part of my problem? :eek1: All 4 of them look like this.

IT likes to just wonder back and forth going down the road.Plus a constant pull to the right.
SO my question is can I replace them with out getting an Alignment? Because I want to do my lift
and get a HD tie rod from Blazen. And get the alignment done after all this is done, but I cant afford to do it all at once.

Wandering could be from a ton of different things. The first step is to make sure that nothing in th steering setup is worn out (i.e. have someone else move the steering wheel back and forth and make sure that none of the steering components have any play in them).

As for alignment, search for alignment and specify my username. I've described how to align a solid front axle a few times now, its certainly nothing you need to pay a shop for (you can't make all that much adjustment on a solid front axle anyway).

Thanks I`ll do both.I might get to check the steering tomorrow.I`ll let ya know what I find.

Wandering could also be from frame cracks around the steering box. If you haven't already installed a steering brace kit, that should be high on your list.

A lot of guys thinks their frames are fine, but once they unbolt the steering box and check carefully on BOTH sides of the frame they are surprised how much damage was hiding there.

As for replacing draglinks ends.... just swap one at a time and don't turn the wheels. Screw the new one into the sleeve until it lines up with the steering arm hole. That will insure that the alignment is just as good (or BAD) as it is now.

:usaflag:

Also, some upholstered shifter covers may help.

Lol, yeha that's probably the problem right there ;) Those fuzzy shifter covers work wonders....

Does pipe insulation count?

And as of now I dont have a frame crack. And the bolt on brace is next
on my list (LOL I have a real list] so no worries. I may even get it by the 6th...
Then the TRE`s and HD TR from Blazen. Then draglinks, just not all at once.

And I can get an aligment cheap so Im not worried about it.
