1976 K5 4WD with the all time all wheel, not locking hubs. I’ve never had one this difficult to remove. I have put big channel locks on it and tried to pry and wiggle it off. Screwdriver and a mallet isn’t working either. It won’t come. Any tricks? If not and I destroy it where can I get a new one?

Your are using the prescribed methods. I’ve had a few of those that I had to remove the wheel to get an angle with the chisel or screwdriver that was more outward

There’s probably someone on here who has one if it comes to that

Bent77. Huge help! That did it. Pulled the wheel and had better leverage.

I feel stupid now thinking there would actually be a spindle with a nut you tighten. Haha. 4 wheel drive! The wheel shop told me this wheel bearing had some play and just needed the out but tightened. I guess not. All I see is a splined washed and a c-clip.

My friend used a tool that looked like a bearing splitter that you screwed on a slide hammer dent puller to get those things off when they were rusted in place..bearing separator.png
The two threaded holes ,he used to bolt on a metal flat stock piece with a center hole to let the dent puller thread onto it..

The nut that sets the tension on the wheel bearings is in there. The inside but is 50 lb/ft torqued, the lock ring, then the outer
Make sure you inspect those bearings though!

don't leave the inner nut at 50 ft lbs torque. Torque to 50 while spinning the rotor, then back off @ 1/4 turn, adjust as necessary to line up pin with the lock tab washer. Then install outer lock nut and torque to 50 ft pd.
