I'm in the middle of my front suspension mods and have my 56 inch springs that came off the rear of my V3500. There are a total of 11 leaves in each pack, including the overload and the main spring with the bushings in them.

Now the question; how many leaves do I want in the pack? I've got 63's in the rear with the full leaf pack installed
Rears:

want the front to be relatively close to level with the rear. I'm thinking just take 4 of the leaves out but don't know.

No way anyone can tell you for sure, every truck is different.

I run 3 leaves and the overload on my front 52's but it's low, basically no lift. But again, each truck is different.

I think I have 6 in my front pack, I think I would start with 8 and see where that went from there. My front pack is really soft and sagged quickly.

I went with 6 in my front pack, removing every other leaf, and they sagged considerably. I'll be using 8-9 next pack I build. It is a heavy front end though with a 6.2

few bits of info.

longer leafs flex more and ride better.

shorter leafs are more for weight capacity.

and the longer the span from ends of leaf to the next in the pack the more it will flex and sag.

the closer the ends to each other the less it will sag and hold load better.

i had a project i never finished. had full body no driveline and had 56" in the front with 9 leaf packs and bottom 3 out to make it a 6 leaf pack. it seemed ok at the time and was a little soft i bet if i had put a drive line in it would have been a bit soft for heavy street use.

if me i would try 6-7 leafs depending on what you want out of it.

oh ya and no overloads for me .
