I am in the middle of my one ton swap and am trying to figure out what the best method of moving the front pinion up some. I did the standard 52 swap up front except I had to chop off the frame right in front of the front body mount/spring perch mount. So I braced it all in and made a front bumper for the spring perch to mount to... it is right where it would have been by going with the traditional 52 swap. The rear spring hangers were moved forward and 7 inch shackles added. The driveshaft is the stock double cardan. I have not ground it alot yet but I can. I used the neapco triangle slip tubes to extend it like a square but stronger. I am getting some bind on the double cardan at 3/4 droop and just wanted to know what everyone else has done to rectify this. I am thinking about shortening the shackle hangers to 6 inches and seeing if that helps my pinion angle.

Well the proper way to do it would be to have the spring pad machined, and the other spring pad cut off and rewelded at a new angle. You can use shims in the front but try to use the smallest ones you need, and the shims must bolt to the spring pack.

Using a shorter shackle can help too. If you can shorten up your shackle that would be much better than using shims. Depending on your fab skills you can space down the front hangers a bit too.

Remember all this screws up the caster of the axle so you either have to put up with some compromises or spend the money and get the knuckles cut and turned

I installed a set of 4 degree tapered zerorates and have a prtty good angle. My problem now is the slip in my 42 degree High Angle Driveline shaft is to short and I pull the shaft apart all the time. I need to insatll a doubler to fix that and it will be fine.
