i need some advice on fabing up some recovery points on my 78 blazer i was thinking about what the m1009 have where tubing comes straight out the bumper and has shackles hanging off of that however i rather not cut holes in my bumper quite yet. i was thinking about dropping down the tubeing from the out side of my frame below my bumper. but the principal is the same. has anyone done this?? or does any one have any pictures of how the m1009 secures the tubing to the frame? any advice would be great.

How do you use the truck? Do you need something that you can yank the truck out of mild stucks or do you plan on burying it up to the doors in mud?
If it's mild I'd opt for a set of factory tow hooks until you're ready to build a full tube bumper.
Guys will tell you horror stories about them straightening or cracking the frame but I've never had any problems. I used new grade 8 hardware and I keep it tight.

73-80 factory tow hooks bolt on and strong.

and mabye if you want a good solid tow point fab up a 2" reciver to bolt in the front of the frame . then cut a hole in the middle of the plate square and use a gm full size car flip down plate holder to bolt plate to and give easy accsess to it.

my 92 caprice had a flip plate/ and camaros / all old full size gm stuff with rear tank basicly had this.
