So what rotors do you guys recomm or use for front when doing D44/8 lug conversion? Last set from napa 6 lug had them turned with on car brake lathe and where warped out of the box.

Unfortunately rotors are just something thats suffered across the board from chinese production. Might have better luck buying some summit drilled and slotted ones? I know when I bought them for my shortbed they were a whopping $2 more a side than factory replacements.

Fwiw: Rotors that mount to the hub as ours do (pinned with the studs) should be turned after mounting to true the rotor to the hub. Can you get by with out doing it? Yes....but you may have wear issues.

I have access to a on car brake lathe. Wondering what brands you guys lean toward here on rotors.

I think toomany's point might be that you would be surprised that pinning the rotors with the wheels studs can actually pull a brand new rotor out of true. Thats why you're suppose to cut a brand new pinned rotor true to the hub. Im not so certain how common it is for a wheel stud to pull a rotor out but when I used to do vette hubs that were riveted on they would pull them out by a mile.

I worked for several years at a front end/brake shop and we always turned every new rotor we installed. It didn't matter what brand they were I never saw a single one that was straight after installing.
