The title said it all. I have a 79 blazer with 4" tough country springs up front. I have new bushings and the bigger bolt at the frame end of the shackle. Also I have the HD shackle that is slightly longer than stock, all from Off Road Design. I have bad DW starting about 20 mph. I had my wife turn the wheel while sitting still and the only play I find is the shackle moving from side to side. It looks like the bushing is too soft. The mount in the frame is not moving but both sides of the shackle are. How do I fix this? I have tightened the bolts down more than I would normally and no help.

I just spoke with Steven at Off Road Design. He said that it was in the king pin spring. The lateral movement was normal and the only thing to fix that was a panhard bar. I guess I will be shimming it to see.

I eliminated the problem by going to springless arms, and a springless cap on the drivers side, since I don't have high steer.

the shackles are only .25" longer than stock I think. Not much of a change. But it will give me more caster not less.

What is a springless cap? I have not heard of that.
