Is it possible or safe to do a front shackle flip? I'm definitely doing the rear, but wondering if I can save money by doing the front and be ok?

Go have a better look at the front...It already has a compression shackle so there is nothing to flip. Lift springs, longer brake lines and steering correction for the front is what you're looking at.

Sounds sketchy. That much angle change without dropping the fixed hanger would result in crazy castor angles.

If you flipped the front shackle, the spring eye would be above the frame - it's impossible. You can lift the front by putting in longer shackles, but you can only get like an inch that way (2" longer shackle) before angles get wonky. ORD's are just 1/2" longer than stock (4.5"?), which is just 1/4" lift. http://www.offroaddesign.com/catalog/hdshackles.htm

If you're going cheap, you can also do the "zero-rate" and get an inch, but if you're going up 4" in the back, there probably enough cheap/free tweaks to get that much in the front.
