ruff country is the first problem . . . in my opinion .

what is the measurements from bump stop bracket on frame to axle tube per side or something that is the same both sides to measure from . this will let you know if there is a spring sagging out .

DING DING DING! we have a winner! sweetk30 called it. It was a sacked out spring. I replaced the odd-ball spring that was supposed to be a Tuff-Country 6" leaf spring with one brand new Tuff-Country 6" leaf spring. After installing the spring, and putting the weight of the truck back on my Dana-60 diff the leaf spring eye came to rest exactly where it should. Both springs now have about a 1 1/2" gap between the leaf spring eye and the frame.

When I first bought my set of Tuff-Country springs 10-years ago, one of them was an odd-ball spring. It had a sticker on it with a Tuff-Country part number, but no company name or logo like the other one. I could tell the spring was manufactured on a different assembly line because the spring bands where located differently, and the rivets where a different size from the other leaf spring. I contacted both the people I bought the springs from and Tuff-Country, in order to tell them I had two different leaf springs. Neither one of them could give a decent answer as to why they where different. They said it would probably not be a problem, and they where correct. The leaf spring did work fine, until about 4-months ago it started sacking out and smacking the frame. The other Tuff-Country leaf spring they sent me 10-years still works fine. The spring that I replaced only had about 20,000 miles on it, as so does the Tuff-Country leaf spring I did not replace.

I did not pay attention to my post. I had 8" Skyjackers that I replaced with Tuff Country's with about a year ago. With the holiday family stuff and visits from out of town, it will not be till after new years before I can crawl under my truck to figure this out. I hope it is something as simple as another pair of longer shackles.

you do realize the original poster had/has Tuff Country springs, not Rough Country? you do realize they are 2 different companies?

All kidding aside, sweetk30's suggestion to double check the spring height difference was what led me to figure out what was wrong with my truck,

Always nice to find a simple solution to a nagging problem. Your truck needs to stay on the road, far too few of these squarebody crewcabs still roaming the roads. Good work.
