Front shackles ... reinforcing "H"

thinking I'm gonna stick a piece of flat stock between my new front shackles for the 52" swap, as right now they're just 3/8" thick, well, flat stock.

Question is, do I put it perpendicular to the long side, so it looks like an H from the front ... or parallel to the long side, like ... umm...

Wow that's bad. Anyway, seems like the second option would give more resistance to torsion, which I think is better.

Or I could put a piece of square tube in there and do both, I s'pose. Any takers?

Tough to reinforce the front shackles. Watch your frame clearance. :wink1:

Yeah, I marked them up, looks like they gotta go waaaay at the bottom.

Prolly more to make me feel better than to do anything to the shackles :D
