I am puting new front(front) shackles in that I built for my 52'' swap and wondering how big of a deal 3/16'' s out is ? the frame is the front inside line for the shackle and I am off the frame 3/16'' the thickness of the steel for the shackle ,is this huge? should I start over and build new shackles or is it good ?? did anyone understand what I just typed???:doah:

Thanks for any input

let me translate: you have shackles that you made that are spaced out from the frame 3/8" farther than stock. what is the thickness on the shackle? i think you are saying it is also 3/8". if all this is right, i say just make sure that both the top (frame side) and the bottom (spring side) are the same width. use quality washers (i would say grade 8)if you have to, because the bushing will probably not take up all that space. just make sure all your hardware is a good quality (grade 8 again).

made simple is it going to really affect things much if my front shackles are out 3/16'' farther then the rear?

the the distance between the shackles side to side .The outside of the frame is the line down for the inside inside of the front shackle. If you draw a line straight down it would go down the outside of the frame and the inside of the frame side of the shackle ,that is the stock width 29''or 28'' dont remember off hand between the two front front shackles . and I am wondering if the front front shackles could be pushed out about 3/16'' wider on both sides farther then the front rears without any problems

does that make senes :( :haha:  :haha: :haha:

I am about to go take a pic if this does not make sense to anyone ;)

It sounds like you're speaking english but I just can't make it out.

shackles

i get what your sayin some would say it wouldnt matter some would big deal it to death i say try it, if it works leave it .

are you saying, talking about the front springs only, that the front mounts are 3/16 wider than the rear mounts

yes !!!!!!!!! is this alright

So basically what you're saying is that if you were a bird flying overhead, your front springs look something like this: 0\ /0 but not quite so exaggerated?

3/16" each side or 3/16" total (3/32" each side)?

Either way, I don't see it being a huge deal.

yep 3/16'' each side . I didnt think it would be that big of a deal ,but all the tech guys in here I figured a second opinion couldnt hurt

How did you measure that and what did you measure off of? You must have measured them in relation to each other right? I am pretty sure that they are designed to toe out a little bit. Why did you even measure this? Maybe I still don't know what you are asking?

I took the stock ones out for new ones I am doing a 52'' spring swap. and I mesured them in realtionship to themselves not each other
