Looking at getting the thicker shackels from diy4x. Is the beefier frame mount worth it as well?

well the ORD shackle kit comes with thicker shackles, better top/bottom bushings and bigger bolts.

I was talking about needing the shackle mount that is riveted to the frame. they sell one that upsizes that top bushing through frame:confused:

don't have a lot of extra cash right now so if i buy this

Yep, get em....heres what you end up with:

Be advised that the hole in the frame needs to be opened up about 1/8" to fit the new center bushing sleeve through the frame. There is a thread on a few ways to do this, I used a carbide porting bit in my drill to massage it a little bigger.

Yeah there is a thread in the tool shed on enlarging the hole the easier way with two hole saws :wink1:

thanks for the link to the hole saw trick:bow: Gonna order all my stuff tomorrow.

question....if I go with the 6" shackle it's gonna help get the spring eye away from frame, but prolly gonna lift me another inch up front right?

I don't really want to go higher, and if so I'll have to come up another inch in the rear to level out:(

Yep, it'll get you further away from the frame and inevitably you'll get a bit more lift from it. If you have a 4" shackle now and go to 6", if the shackle is perfectly straight up and down before and after, you'd get 1" of lift. If there is an angle in that equation, the numbers don't quite work the same, still very close in most cases.

The good news is thanks to Kert I got these bad boys in the mail today....
Bad news is I haven't ordered the beefy frame mounts yet cuz I had to spend my extra cash fixing my A/C unit at my house. 6mos pregnant wife and Texas heat around the corner said shackles only:o

the heat is already here! frame mounts things are still good, this will solve your problem for now.

Did you go with the 6" or the 4.5s? I'm looking to do the same thing, but was leery of getting the 6" because I didn't wanna have the rear end sag.
