Probably get better responses later in the day, but hopefully this helps someone compare to a known shaft length...the later (32 spline) 465/205 adapter adds 3 inches to the front shaft length over an earlier 10 spline combo.
Sorry, I'm a dumbass, forgot to mention that the 465/205 combo that I have in my 86 Blazer is out of a 78(I think) Blazer, it's the old 10 spline style.
Well, if thats the case, aren't all 208 shafts "CV" style, and all 205's prior to '80 u-jointed shafts?
In any case, from my experience, the auto trans (208 and even 203's I checked on) shafts all seem to be too long to fit the later 465/205 setup, and that means the earlier 10 spline stuff would need to be 3" shorter than what is already too long to fit on the 32 spline setup.
I'm going to stop contributing lengths now, I don't have the specs of exactly what you are looking for, I'd hope someone does. Is there a listing of the stock front shaft lengths (stock) that anyone is aware of?
We could start one...I've got both 10 spline 465/205 and 4L80E/205 shafts that I could measure.
