Front spring shackle washers?

I've got new front spring shackles, bushings, and greasable bolts. The bolts come with the locking nuts but no washers. My stock shackles didn't have any washers either.

Are washers required on either end of the bolt?

I used washers on mine.

My factory shackles had a washer on the nut side. I swapped the factory shackles for some that i made (thicker than stock) and i used a aftermarket hardened washer on the nut side.
