is it difficult to replace the front door weather strip in my 82 blazer?
mine has fallen out literally.going to replace it tomorrow.

If your talking about the weather stripping that the windows goes into, read below. If its the part that goes on the cab, its super easy, just remove the old and install the new, no special tools or adhesives needed.

I just went thru this a couple days ago. Its not difficult but there are some tricks I learned. Below is only if you decide NOT to take the window out.

Take your door panel off and take out the nut that holds the back window channel (the part closest to the door knob). this will help you move the glass back and forth to get the weather stripping down all the way to the bottom of the door.

Use some silicone spray to help the weather stripping slide past the window.

I used LMC weather stripping and so far its doing great, it fit perfectly and went in fairly easily.

i have lmc also for over a year and never put it in but now the old fell out so i need to do it.plus when it rains im tired of getting wet.

i just put all new weather stripping in mine, everything except the wing window, not sure how to do that one yet. all lmc parts. only problem i have is now is everything is to tight, and its not from the channel kit, its from the squeegie felt kit, anyone else have these problems?

Mine is tight but not too tight. I believe the wing window has to be removed. I seen a YouTube video of the removal, seemed it was a bit tricky but do-able.

Thats the same vids I watched. You can see him struggle a tad to get the wing in and out.

i watched that video too. everything went together smoothly but its all so tight im glad i dont have power windows, tailgate too. the channel kits are all great the problem comes with the felt squeegie thingies on the door and inner door pannel.

So power windows is more of a pita
Ihave power windows

I have no idea, I changed the seals when I converted from Power to Manual, got tired of slow power drawing power windows and my drivers side started to go out.

i dont think its more of a pain in the ass, but my stuff is so tight i dont think power windows would be able to move my windows up or down. my drivers door window is getting better after two weeks.

I agree, as tight as mine where, I dont think my power windows wouldve worked at all, they barely worked before with sloppy and broken seals.

my power windows were slow but the power wire to the main switch broke so i bypassed it and it works good now

I can't understand why all you guys are complaining of things being tight. Tight is good, well, at least in some things.:waytogo:
Anyway, the window channels are the same for both manual and power windows. The felts will be kind of binding when new but will free up after some use then be fine. I completely did both doors on my rebuild and the vent window is not that hard to remove but everything else really needs to be out except maybe the door handle and latch. If the vent window pivots fine and the rubbers around the vw are good don't bother touching it. Pull the old felt channels out (if really old they like to break in pieces and a pair of needle nose pliers are almost mandatory) and just feed the new ones in. Removing the window to do it is not that hard and if you do, you'll learn a little about the window mechanism anyway in case you have any issues later down the road. A little extra knowledge is a good thing.
