trying to cut -4 AN stainless hose and having problems. I used electrical tape each time. Niether of my hacksaws have sharp blades and would fray the stainless. I borrrowed a buddys chop saw with metal blade, and it frayed the ends. I tried my pneumatic cutoff wheel and it frayed. Dremel with cutoff = frayed

Am I going to fast or slow? I have tried both with similar results.

This is pissing me off and I only have about 6-8" of screwups left.

Tips??? How do you cut Stainless AN hose?

I did a write up on this but I can't find it right now..

Long story short.. Get some filament tape. Find a sharp 1" or so wood chisel. Put a block of wood/aluminum block under hose. Set chisel on mark. Smack with hammer. Don't be shy.. Smack it good. It does flatten hose a little but it cuts it very nice. Proven method.....

Found some pics

Yep wood chisel on top of a aluminum block works the best of any other way I've tried

Filament tape and dremel cutting wheel works. High speed - light touch. Think dentist...

I bought a set of Chisels just for this I've cut up to -12 it works very very well

-4 AN is small so i'm assuming this is for brakes? If so i would be careful using the chisel method as it could split the nylon housing inside the hose. I have always used a cut off wheel on my air grinder as fast as it will go and gently cutting through it AFTER the hose is wrapped in electrical tape or Duct tape.

I've always used the above cutoff tool method... electrical tape.....
