I am going to put in a fuel cell and need to know what all people have used for pumps. I know I can just take the old tank out and put it in the bed... Not gonna do that, I want a fuel cell. I seem to remember someone using a ford fuel pump that was inline and seemed to work like a champ. I just cant remember what one it is. Also I was planning on using a bottom sump fuel cell, any thoughts on this?

IMO, the Walpbro fuel pumps are the best for inlinde pumps. Keep it as close to the fuel cell as possible.

As far as the bottom sump...the only experience I have with this is a portable setup I did at work that we can roll around on a cart. It worked great for our purposes, and I used one of the Walbro pumps as well. The only problems I can see is if you are low on fuel and going up or down a hill. I suppose you could orient the sump so it is to one side, but then if you are off camber enough and low on fuel you have the same issue. It's probably not any more of an issue than a sending unit.:dunno:

If you are clever, you can get away with only runing one fuel line up to the TBI for a returnless fuel system. You will need an adjustable regulator mounted back at the tank. I have a schematic of the one I did at work...I'll see if I can find it.

hey gabe, if you want a pump, I bought two year or two back from a surplus store they are all plastic white, with a short piece of fuel line attached, made by hella.

You could rig them inline, or submerse it as i think that is what it is made for. I hooked one up in a jerry can and put power on it, and once it primed itself (was 15" above the can hooked to hose) it shot gas about 6 feet across my shop! so the thing is high PSI.

if you want I'll give one to you, for shipping, since your working on this you can figure out how it works for you then I'll know for the other one:D

Schematic

I found my schematic. I added the adapter fittings part #'s as well.
