what size fuel cells are you guys running in your k5's? i am thinking about taking out my stock blazer tank and replacing it with a fuel cell and dropping the fuel cell down about 3" from the bottom of the frame that way it doesnt take up the whole back of the blazer ... anyone have any pictures of how the did their rear fuel cell ?

I got a 20g cell, AL one from Summit. I'll probably have a 5 gallon gas can to go along with it. No pics yet, but it will be mounted in the bed.

22 Gal Jaz Fuel cell is what I just installed, cut a hole in the floor of the bed, made a frame for it to reinforce the whole and dropped it in with staps on the top and bottom and a seal around the edge, to keep the exhaust out. put a fender filler kit on the fender and used 3 feet of 3" clear fuel line. looks killer and is very functional.

My cell sits flush with the floor and soon I will build a shelf over the top of it so I can still have a cargo area in the rear. :D

i have been thinking about the jaz32 gal tank p/n 280-132-06 it should then fit in bewtween my frame rails and only stick up and out of the floor 4 or 5"

where about in san diego are you? im right by esco

The 32 gallon cells work good, you can mount them flush with the bottom of the frame and they stick about 6" so above the bed, so it would be easy to build a cover for them so the bed is still usable.

Thanks man i will have to update my avatar it has had some big changes since that pic was taken.....looks even better now :D

Mine is a 22 Gal Jaz. In the near future I will be swapping tubs and lowering the fuel cell in to the floor like stated above. It is killer on your storage area. Great if you are only wheeling with 2 people, but I plan on making my rig a family wheeler now that the kids are getting older.

i have a 32 gal. RCI fuel cell in the back of my truck...JC Whitney has a fuel guage setup that i just installed...it came w/ a level for any tank up to 27 in. i think, and a guage (2 1/8 " maybe) and it was only like 23 dollars. pretty good deal, pretty accurate...i had the fuel cell in for a year before i ever got a guage. the guage was a mistake though....now i REALLY know how much gas i use on a daily basis and it makes me feel bad. i would rather have not known i got THIS bad of gas milage. :eek1:

here is what i bought...
