Finally got the truck running:D but it will only run by pouring gas directly through the carb.

replaced the fuel pump--still no go.

I took off the fuel lines from the pump to the carb and return and get it idleing by pouring the gas by hand and no gas is coming from the pump.

I pull the pickup out of the tank and make sure it is submerged--it is.

I make sure the pickup isn't clogged--it is not.

I think I have the lines hooked up correctly--pretty idiot proof (though i amase myself sometimes)

Does moving the tank above the frame rails have anything to do with it?

I'm confused:confused:

On a cool note it fired right up after sitting for almost 2 years:D :D :D

Possibly a collapsed section of rubber fuel line or crushed rigid line? Or blocked line? Can you blow through it back into the tank?

yup, start isolating the issue....

Could be sucking air thru a leak in a hardline... Eliminate that... run a rubber hose from the pump (i'm assuming mechanical) to a jerry can.. Run? ok... it's there back...

eliminate the hardline.. run a rubber hose from the pump externally back to the pickup and see if it'll draw off the tank... run? it's your hardline, etc, etc...

its all new hard line from the tank to the pump. ill see if its kinked but i was pretty dedicated to make it right i really dont think it is.

well, like I said, you need to isolate the issue.. confident in the hardline, then disconnect the hose from the pickup and put it in a jerry can....
