I have a leak where the hose transitions from the metal filler. I have what I think is a heavy duty clamp to try and tighten it, but no luck.

This is the right size hose according to everything that I have found and is rated for fuel. It has metal wire reinforcing going through it and is real stiff.

Any ideas on how to seal this off?

The hose looks to big and is torn up at the end. It should be a tight for over the metal tube. I know that particular size hose is hard to find locally, I had to order it online.

is that wire reinforced marine hose? if it is, it has to be rated for type 2 fuel, usually it'll have a red stripe on it......

and yeah, it looks an 1/8 or so too big.. slide on easy? gotta watch on that style clamp that it doesn't get close to bottoming out too, that looks close......

also for added security you can always add another clamp, going the other direction from that one, right next to it.... we are required to double-clamp many hoses in boats, fuel fills being one...

You are right about expensive, I ordered it from a site that caters to blazers of this year. I think it was a 1 3/8". It was easy to slide on for the filler end. The end to the tank is nice and tight even when it was installed.

I will try to size down the clamp and double them up.

the marine type 2 is about $10 a foot usually depending on size...

another trick you could try since you probably wont be pulling it apart anytime soon is to put a little bit of gasket sealer on the metal before you put the hose on... double clamp it, let it dry up a bit...

something like aviation seal or permatex 300.. but absolutely not anything silicone based like form-a-gasket, ultra black, etc...

I had a leak. Tried to find one. Couldn't. Took Ryokens advise. Went to a local boat shop. They sold it by the foot. Paid like $35.00 but worth it. Should have measured twice. Didn't use it all.

got mine at Oreillys they can get a few different sizes, took 2 or 3 before they got the right one.

Hose

I got mine from House of Hose in Spokane, Wa. It was cheap, fuel rated filler hose. I've got a chunk that is likely long enough left over. I can send it to you if you are stuck.

Hose

That would be great. I can paypal you the shipping if you have an account. thanks!

I just went and measured it against the one on my truck and it's about three inches longer than you need. PM me your address and I'll fire it off in the mail the cheapest route possible. You can pay pal me whatever the shipping is.

If I remeber correctly mine was 2 different sizes, like 1.5 on the tank end and 1.75 on the filler neck. Has anyone ran into this issue?

Mine was 1 3/8 inside diameter which is tough to find. Got your PM, I'll mail it off tomorrow and let you know what the shipping is.
