I got a 6.2 with the stock fuel filter ( square ). The truck had sat for about ten years when i got it out. It had a bad leak from the filter so i replaced the filter and that so solved the leak or the most part ( i think the ruber o-rings were bad on the old filter ). There is still a slow drip from the bottom of the the filter/block and when the truck sits over night i think air gets into the system because it takes a while to start and it acts like it isn't getting fuel and then all of a sudden it will start hitting on each cyclender till they are all going. I was wondering if the block might have a little crack in it? Any one experiance the same problem? I'm thinking about replacing the square style with a screw on type. I was wondering if this is hard to do and how many micron filter should i use ( there is only the one filter on the truck )? Any opinions or suggestions would be great. Thanks

I have heard of people getting warped fuel filter bases that cause leaks. Fuel leaking out means that air can leak in so it is wise to replace that filter base.
