blazer recently started stuttering when driving, seems fine at idle.. dies when I put in drive, then restarts fine, but dies again when putting in gear .

Topped off the tank thinking fuel gauge might not be working.. issue still there.. where is the fuel filter located?

If it still has a quadrajet then there's a small cartridge filter at the carb inlet, there's a big fitting where the feed line screws in to the carb. If the carb has been changed then who knows.

Awesome thanks. Found it as you noted. Filter changed but problem persists.. the ol girl going to need more work to figure this out..

May need to replace the rubber hoses that join the fuel pump to lines. There is a joint about the end of transfer case on frame. There is rubber joint at the tank.
