I can't seem to find an in-line fuel filter on my 70 blazer. The edelbrock 1406 doesn't have an inlet filter on its exploded diagrams - how can I tell if the filter is part of the fuel pump? If it's not, I guess the previous owner didn't have one on at all...which would be...bad...

Nope, they don't have a filter in the carb. You need to put an inline filter on. Edelbrock has a kit (pn/8135) but it's just a generic in line filter and some rubber hose.

I've never seen a mechanical fuel pump with a filter in it, and a quick check through the summit catalog didn't yield any either. That's not to say nobody makes one though.

please dont use the cheep glass units thay suck. get a good paper unit and if you want see threw plastic so you can look at the fuel.
