Fuel Filter Problem . .

87 k5 TBI Never changed its fuel filter before, its tucked in the passenger
framerail, I can't seem to bust the nuts loose. Any suggestions? I don't want to bend or break my fuel lines.

Two wrenches, opposite directions

they will break loose,,,oh, and have some rags handy, the filter is below fuel tank level, get ready to unscrew the filter fast once it's broke loose, and slap on the new filter real quick,,,you're GONNA spill some fuel

I don't mean to seem ignorant I just want to do it right, one wrench on each side of the filter ( not the nuts on the filter ) right?

should have a place for the wrench ON the filter, and the line, use a wrench to basically hold the filter, and loosen the line nut,,,on both sides...

DO NOT completely remove the line nuts until you are absolutely ready to swap out the filter, just break them loose first, like i said, fuel will keep coming out while the filter is removed. Kinda need to be quick about it

I wouldn't even TRY this without a tubing wrench. You round the nut flats off the fuel line, have fun. Cost you a bunch more than a tubing wrench to fix.

line nuts in good shape are 16mm . and filter end is some odd ball. i just use a big adjustable wrench for more leverage to hold it. if you can take 2 hammers and place one behind filter at the nut to filter location. then on other side tap the nut / filter area with other hammer . this will help loosen up the rust. but be vary easy to not flaten or damage stuff.
