86K5 blazer with a fuel gauge problem. Can someone explain to me what kind of reading I should have on the three prongs at the gague cluster when the fuel gauge is removed from the panel? Also what kind of readings should I get on the three prongs on the gauge?

right now if I unplug the gauge, manually move the needle to the empty position, and plug it back in.....it goes all the way past full and just sit at about the 3:00 position...

thanks

You have an open somewhere in the circuit.
Start by checking the wires all the way back to the tank, and be sure the ground connection is good.

I'm dealing with the same problem.....I was going to wait to get ryoken custom dash bezel into my truck. But I think I will search for open circuits tomorrow. I want to FINALLY get some video of my Blazer.
