My truck (88k5, 350 tbi) did not have a cluster in it when I purchased it. The PO had installed auto meter gauges in a hack job fashion and kept all of them in the deal. Only guage im missing is is fuel level which I was just given.

The guage has 3 prongs in the back. I assume one is hot, 1 ground and 1 sender. Am I correct in thinking that? Whats the best way to hook this up? Thanks.

and just a word of warning.. if you ever accidently touch 12v's to the "sender" post, you will nuke the gauge...

so which wire from the tank am I hooking up? I can get to the top of my tank as the PO cut a hole in the floor, just need to know which wire to run to the guage.

there is a pink wire ,which should be the fuel pump and a tan with black strip should be the sending unit. and of course there is a ground wire to the frame.

Is this tan w/ black strip wire on the 18pin connector for the instrument cluster? (hate to bump a dead thread)
