1) Would anyone happen to know the sizes of the rubber fuel hoses going to the fuel pump from the metal hardlines? Both supply and return. This is for small block.

2) Do these hoses usually deteriorate and eventually need replacement? i've only seen one instance of one (supply line) leak.

The only reason i'm replacing mine is because i've swapped in a 4.3 v-6---which means the fuel pump is farther back and the v-8 lines won't reach it.

3) Can you recommend a good brand?

IIRC, the supply line is 3/8" hose and the return is 5/16", again IIRC.

What I would buy if you want to never have to worry about it is fuel injection hose. It's really expensive, but it's 10 times better than the standard fuel line that rots quickly.

If they are 80's or even 90's, definitely replace with newer hose. I concur with fuel injection hose. Goodyear would be a good brand, not sure who else out there can be trusted.

On my '84 K5, I have 3 lines and all are a different sizes (dont remember what size tho). I swapped mine for Marine Grade Fuel lines, suppose to be ethanol resistant.
