Hey guys I have a small, maybe large issue. My K5 has been sitting in the garage for 2 years, with a half of tank of fuel in it. I dont know much about diesel fuel so what issues do I have here. Do I need to drain the tank and wash it out? If so what do I wash it out with? Is there something I can put in tank to treat it?

well i own a gasser, but after two years, i would drain the tank. As for cleaning it out...no clue. As long as there isn't grit/junk at the bottom you could probably get away with just putting new fuel in.

As long as it was dry to begin with and was kept sealed in the tank you're probably fine. Put a new filter in and fire it up.

Diesel is very stable if kept dry - if it had moisture in it you may have grown algea.

My tank sat for some time and water got inside it. It was rusted to begin with and only got worse. I would try to pump out the fuel and put fresh fuel in if your don't have rust. The solution is dilution.
