fuel line adapters, GM o-ring - newer style push lock

If you haven't seen a reference, often you will find them called "saginaw" fittings (the older style) but searching that and adapter via Google didn't come up with any promising results.

I would expect they should be made, but maybe not. Quick thing that comes to mind (and not my preferred method, but all I can think of) is to see if there are any -AN to push lock adapters, and just cut off the GM fittings, and flare for AN?

Dorman makes both fittings part #800-132, and #800-133. They are female threaded o-ring style to barb 3/8 and 5/16. Then from those you can run rubber high pressure fuel line, or the nylon style dorman fuel line up to their style quick connect or flared style for rubber fuel line. Then there are the female o-ring style to -6an fittings if you choose to run -an style fuel line. Just google 16mmx1.5 to -6an and 14mmx1.5 to -6an. Hope this helps.

I need a female o-ring (Saginaw) to female push lock adapter. I'm not having any luck at all. I have a feeling I'm going to be removing some of the OEM lines and re-doing things. Running an adapter to a rubber line to a hard line seems like a temporary solution to me. Not something I'd want to leave in there for a long time.

What I have looked at in the past (I plan to stay with the saginaw fittings) is simply buying the flaring tool, and making my own lines.

If you want hard lines (or nylon I suppose) with the factory fuel filter (with built in regulator, right?) the only options I see are running adapters, cutting off the fittings on that filter and flaring for saginaw, or cutting off the stock fittings and flaring for the push lock stuff.

I personally don't like adapters in any capacity, so making your own lines/fittings is often the only way around it.

Interested in the Mastercool 71475? http://www.mastercool.com/pages/flaring_tools.html :)

i'm thinking i'll cut off the stock stuff and convert it all to pushlock. yeah its the regulator filter with the return line, i think 04+ LS engines use it, mine is an 04.

that is an awesome flaring tool! ive got a cheap one that only does double flares for brake line and does them poorly... i'm gonna need one of those.

Eventually I'm going to need that tool too. Would really like to find a slightly used one, not going to need it for awhile, but when I do, it's all that is going to work.

They aren't RIDICULOUSLY expensive, when you start talking about the -AN adapters for the Saginaw fittings for the stock setup, you are already in the $80 range, and still dealing with adapters (and dissimilar metals, which I don't understand either) so being able to bend and flare your own lines starts making $$ sense pretty quickly.

I see Mastercool has a cheaper tool that does the pushlock flare and one other, but not nearly as functional. I figure the most-in-one tool would have the most functionality over time.

I have the big master cool flaring set. Yes it is as sweet as it looks and worth every penny. If you're doing any kind of custom builds. You'll use it. Even repairing stuff it comes in handy. Fuel lines, brake lines, a/c lines, and party tricks.

For your dilemma though. The fitting you're looking for will be quite difficult to find. Good luck

Wow mani didn't have that much luck. Thanks for the links I'll keep that in mind. I might just re-flare my OEM lines and have a new line made from the filter to the engine. I'll end up buying that flaring kit, it's too nice of a tool not to.

That's what everyone that I let use it says too! Good luck with whatever direction you go

Oooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Santa,

I've been a good boy

Hahaha

I've got two tubing benders for 1/8-1/2". I just need that flaring tool.
