Is this something you guys would recommend?

I was looking at the braided AN type lines summit sells but... meh.
I’d rather run the hardline up to intake area then rubber to filter to carb. Similar to what I have on my blazer.

the old “stock” metal fuel lines I have are rusted on the inside and the bends are already kinked...

I have a stock carter mechanical fuel pump with edlebrock avs carb.

If it was me I’d run hardline as much as possible, preferably stainless. Obviously you need to run some kind of flexible line from the frame rail to engine to absorb vibration.

The braided line would best. I don't know of a SS tube bent for a Carter, only q jet. I used a spectre inlet tube one time, and had to change the pipe plug, for the pressure gauge port. The one that came with the part would never seal. I had been warned about previously.

I may have to mod the connector from the hose to the pump as other have said in the reviews. It bolts right up to an edelbrock mechanical fuel pump but not always with a Carter.

I’d rather mod it than buy another darn fuel pump

What would you suggest? Getting the fitting you linked?

Will that screw into the carter and screw into the fuel hose?

or do I go with cutting the fitting off the end of the hose and using a hose clamp over the pump bar

I have to look out for the bottom radiator hose... I can probably get an elbow fitting for the pump if needed

I like switching that stuff over to -6AN but that's a little extravagant. I would probably plan on the elbow.

You could. Technically they say not to clamp the braided stuff but I've done it. I use fuel injection clamps.

You could cut it and hose clamp, since not steel braided or high pressure . You can also get the -an fitting in a 90 or 45.

I have that 90 that allows you to move the elbow portion where you want to.

what is the best to cut the hose? I have metal snips, will be sharp enough? They are brand new

I have these two old hard lines? What if I connect this to the pump and cut it and put the hose and clamp on it?
